Flutist Brandon Patrick George & Pianist Leah Claiborne



An evening of new and rediscovered works by Black classical composers performed on flute and piano.

Grammy-winning flutist Brandon Patrick George joins pianist Leah Claiborne for an inspiring concert featuring new and rediscovered works by Black classical composers.  


Known for his elegance and virtuosity, Brandon Patrick George has performed with major orchestras across the country, including the Atlanta, Baltimore, and Albany symphonies. Beyond the stage, George is a passionate advocate for diversity in classical music, spearheading projects like BPG: The Community Concerto Project, which premiered with the Albany Symphony and the Albany High School Choir in 2024. His latest album, Twofold, was released on In a Circle Records in September 2023. 


Leah Claiborne, D.M.A., is equally dedicated to celebrating Black composers through her performances and her work as a teacher and advocate. She serves as Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Frances Clark Center and is the founder of Ebony Music Inc., a nonprofit supporting Black classical pianists and their music. At the University of the District of Columbia, she serves as coordinator of keyboard studies and teaches History of African American Music. Dr. Claiborne is a Yamaha Artist.
